Where to find the date

Look for the date of manufacture label on the seat, usually near the model number. The manual states the lifespan. Add the years to the DOM, or use the car seat expiration date checker.

All-in-one seats: 8 or 10 years?

Chicco lists two possible lifespans for all-in-one seats. Don't guess which one applies. Use the number printed in your seat's manual or on its label.

Reusing a Chicco seat

Chicco says a seat can be used for another baby if it hasn't expired, been in a crash, or been damaged so that parts are missing or compromised. Otherwise, cut the straps and dispose of it so it can't be reused. See also the after-accident checklist.
